had a litter of four lovely baby Bombays a day after the Valentine's day this year. 

There are three girls and a boy in the litter; the first ever Finnish Bombay litter, hurray!

The kittens will be ready to move to their new homes in early summer 2009.

It was a joyfull moment when the years of anticipation

were finally over and the four little black pearls were born.

Salma, the mom, did an excellent job and even thought these

kittens seem quite a "pawfull", she acts beyond all my

expectations nursing her demanding and loud trasures!

It was a lazy Sunday when the labour began,

and although Salma was a first timer in all of this

she managed perfectly and all the four baby Bombays

were out in the open within a couple of hours.

All along I wished for a girl and Salma managed to deliver three of them!

Every litter needs a dose of testosterone, eh,

hence there is a little black prince

(affectionately called "bulldogg"). 

He is very calm and has a good apetite.

Two of the kittens are reserved at this point

but two are still available

for loving and caring homes of their own.

Breed standard

The Bombay is a medium-sized, well balanced, friendly, alert and outgoing, muscular and having a surprising weight for its size. The body and tail should be of medium length, the hear rounded with medium-sized, wide set ears, a moderate nose "stop", which is visible (not a break), large rounded wide set eyes, and an overall look of excellent proportions and carriage.

Head should be pleasingly rounded, medium in size with no sharp angles (and no flat planes). The face should be full with considerable breadth between the eyes blending gently into a broad, well developed, moderably rounded muzzle that maintains the rounded contours of the head. In profile there should be a moderate visible stop, however it should not present "pugged" or "snubbed" look. Moderate stop is not to be considered a "break" but a slight identation at the bridge of nose between the eyes thus providing a change of direction from the rounded head to a medium rounded muzzle. The end of the nose is slightly rounded down thus completing the roundness of the head. Ears should be medium in size and set well apart (but not flared) on a rounded skull, alert, tilting slightly forward, broad at the base and with slightly rounded tips. Chin should be firm (and rounded) neither receding nor protruding, reflecting a proper bite. (Muzzle rounded, short, broad, well developed. Nose slightly rounded down at the end. Neck is well developed, short to medium.)

Body medium in size, muscular in development, neither compact or rangy. Allowance is to be made for larger size in males. Legs (sturdy,) in proportion to the body and tail. Paws round. Toes five in front and four in back. Tail straight, medium in length, neither short nor "whippy". (Tapering to blunt tip.)

Penalize: excessive cobbiness or ranginess (Fine boning. Long, whippy tail)

Coat fine, short, satin-like texture, close lying with a shimmering patent leather sheen. (Allowance should be made for kittens and younger cats up to two years of age.)

Colour: the mature specimen should be (dark) black to the roots. Kitten coats should darken and become more sleek with age. Nose leather and paw pads black.
