Genuina cattery

The story of our household has been very variable. For years we've been travelling both in and out of Finland with quite a variable composition. Now, after seven years in a backpack, we've finally settled in Turku of Finland. We found a nice, homey house where we fit perfectly with both the two and the four-legged members of our little family. And it's sheer fun!

I, Nonna, always pictured myself as a dog person until Felis came along. Over the years I've realized to be much alike with my cats: comfort loving, peaceful, tidy home person, who's perfectly happy with oneself when all the basic needs are met. A dream of mine about a wooden house with lots of cats is where we've come today. I've missed my home country during the "backpacking" years and thus having come back is pure pleasure!

The partner of mine, Kari, came along years ago with his dog. All the dogs in the world seem to sence the dog spirit of Kari and we sometimes joke about Kari having been a dog in his previous life... Apparently Burms seem to be "doggy" enough to meet Kari's requirements! When Kari's bullmastiff passed away we talked about getting a dog once we would have a yard of our own. Surprisingly when the yard became a topic, Kari decided to forget about it -and we got a cat instead!

Cats are, above all, dear family members in our household. A cat's mission is to enjoy life and we, sure, try to make it happen. We visit cat shows only to the extend that the cats seem to be ok with it. Burm babies are produced relatively seldom. We start a "baby project" only when we know we can guarantee lots of guality time for the cats and kittens.

About a year ago I started working part time, which more than doubled my free time. First time in my life there's plenty of time for lots of activities other than work or studying. Due to the radical change of life style the breeding hobby started blossoming. We've never had as many litters as we've had during the last year or so. Breeding is, in it's own way, a challenging yet a fascinating hobby!

To get in the main topic, the cats, please follow the links below. There are five Burms in our household; the very first cat from Genuina breeding, a lilac neuter female Genuina Parcca Africanus; a brown tortie queen, Australian import Aurora Paint Mia Star, a young red neuter male Demonian Ron Weasley, a blue German import queen Abraxa Ava von Wistano and last but not least the newest arrival, a choc tortie queen from Saga's last litter Genuina Humming Harlequin.

In addition to the above mentioned there are some co-owned cats living in other households. There's a chocolate neuter female, our first Burmese Isä-Brownin Felis, who "retired" and lives in Kuopio nowadays with a brown Burm junior, Genuina Escorting Eros. In the same town lives a chocolate Burm queen Genuina Danish Dandy, a second generation Genuina cat, and her browntortie girl Genuina Faunus Phantasticus.
